Office Hours:

Office hours are by appointment only. This is to avoid any waiting when you visit our studio. We offer flexible hours to fit your schedule. For best appointment times during the Christmas holiday season or summer, call early to schedule.
Clothing:
The clothes you wear will have a direct bearing on the effectiveness of your final portrait.  The proper clothing will not only enhance the personal appearance of the people in the photograph, but also heighten the elegance of the area in your home where your portrait will be hung.  As a general rule, solid colors are always best.  In order to create a timeless portrait, clothing should be kept plain and simple.  Please avoid bold colors and prints such as stripes, plaids, etc.  This way the center of attention will be on the face instead of on the clothing.  For formal portraits, solid colors and long sleeves look best.  For casual portraits, bare feet, jeans, khakis, tee shirts, or whatever.  If you need help in choosing clothing please ask.
Suggestion:
Dress in the style and color of the room where you will be displaying your wall portrait.  Bring your own props to match such as throw pillows or floral arrangements.
Special Interest
Photographs:
If you have a special interest, hobby, sport, etc. which you would like to have included in your portrait session, please let us know so that we may plan to include it.  Bring your own props if you like, but please discuss them with us ahead of time so that we may determine whether or not they will work for your session.

Make-up:
The center point of interest in a fine portrait is the eyes.  Eye shadow and eye liner should be applied lightly and with care.  Apply two coats of mascara on both upper and lower lashes.  Wear your other make-up as usual.  Bring all your make-up with you, in case any minor modifications are required.  If you do not usually wear make-up, we strongly suggest a little blush, lipstick and mascara to greatly enhance your portrait.  Men and women both should dab a little cover-up on those noticeable blemishes!!
Hair:
Plan to wear your hair in a style you are comfortable with.  We recommend avoiding new cuts just prior to your appointment.
Shaving:
Men should be sure to shave just prior to the scheduled appointment as there is no way to hide a “five o'clock shadow.”
Glasses:
Due to curvature or thickness of some glasses, they cannot be photographed without glare and may distort the face.  If you wear glasses, wear them for your portrait, but have the lenses removed (we can remove them here if they have screws) or borrow an empty pair of frames from your optometrist.  There will be an extra charge to remove glare on the final portrait.
